Busy, busy.

So. I will be gone next week on a cruise with my family to Cabo San Lucas. Yeah. You have no idea how stoked I am. (!!!) But since I'll be missing a whole week of school next week I have like, triple the work to get done. I had a biochemistry test today... and I tanked it. Does anyone know the structure and mechanism of chymotrypsin??? Not me! That was a bummer :( Looks like I'm going to have to absolutely ace the next two tests to get anywhere near the grade I want in that class. BUT I am confident I can do it. No sense wallowing in the mud about it, right? (Confession: I did wallow about it with one of my close friends. For just a little while. I am grateful for patient and listening friends.)

But on to lighter things! Just wanted to quickly post what's been going on... V interviewed for a resident assistant job (look how cute she makes professional dress look!):

The boys had their final dodgeball game last week. Can I just say what fighters they are? Seriously, so grateful for their friendship and all the laughter and loyalty and silliness they bring into my life! You guys are awesome! ^_^ Check out some of the highlights:

(I tried really hard to get a video posted...
it said it would take half an hour to upload.
No thank you.)

And me? Well I have been taking tests (3 last week) and ruminating on what I'm going to do with my life post-grad. EFY is supposed to get back to me this week (finally!), but I'm trying really hard to avoid disappointment if they decide to go with someone else, so I'm working on the whole eternal-perspective thing. By this point, you've probably figured out that I manage to worry about a lot of silly things, and what I'm going to do and be is one of those things I sometimes catch myself worrying about these days. I guess I'm still just a work in progress... Anyways, I found this amazing talk by President Uchtdorf today called, "The Reflection in the Water". Such a great talk, I recommend reading the whole thing! Some of the best parts, though:

••••• You are no ordinary beings, my beloved young friends all around the world. You are glorious and eternal. No matter your circumstances or trials in life, I urge you to remember WHO you are, WHERE you came from, and WHERE you are going—for the answers to those questions will truly provide confidence and direction for your life... Our destiny is greater than we can imagine. If only we understood who we are and what is in store for us, our hearts would overflow with such gratitude and happiness that it would enlighten even the darkest sorrows with the light and love of God, our Heavenly Father. The next time you feel unhappy, remember where you came from and where you are going. Rather than focus on things that dampen your thoughts with sorrow, choose to focus on those things that fill your soul with hope... It is my earnest prayer that the knowledge of who you are and what you may become will fill your souls with the peaceable love of God and that this will ignite within you a happiness worthy of your true heritage, for in truth you are princes and princesses, kings and queens. •••••

Don't you just love that? Especially on days like today, it is so reassuring to be reminded that I am loved, that the Lord knows who I am, and that He has a plan for my life. Lovely.

Thank you for all the optimism and perspective you bring into my life.

Much love,
me
